Last week I received a wonderful blanket from a crocheter in Saitama. She read an article about ‘Knit for Japan’ and decided to help. She made 50 Granny Squares. Her mother then connected them into a great blanket. Her son later helped to write an English letter for me. A real family blanket.
One of the members of my knitting class also finished another blanket. Her husband is a very creative gentleman. He decided the position of each motif. Last weekend both came over to my place. We selected motifs for several themed blanket. I can’t wait to see the results.
This is amazing. Over the past month customers of Naito Shoji (NSK) and shop staff from around Japan have crocheted 578 Granny Squares. I had 2 large cartons waiting outside my home yesterday. So many different colors and designs. Thank you everyone. This is truly ‘Wow’.
Over the past week I got 6 more quite large boxes of “Granny Squares” and yarn. It will take me some days to go through and post pictures of them all. Below I post pictures of one of the boxes here from Japan I opened today.
A knitting group from the beautiful city of Franklin – New Hampshire has send some time to crochet 64 Granny Squares and several cute woolly hats. I truly enjoy to see all this beautiful colors and yarns from so many creative people.
Over the past days I received several parcels from the US and Japan. Knitters have send me beautiful yarn and a lot of needles and crochet hooks. On knitter included several cute amigurumi, which will make some kids smile.
