経済産業大臣賞 – Award by the Japanese Ministry of Economy and Trade

Last week at the Japan Hobby Show ‘Knit for Japan’ was awarded first price, sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Economy and Trade. Mr. Naito and myself went up on stage to receive the award. I was very surprised and moved to receive such an award. It is a great honor for my. Everybody involved in this project can be very proud. You all deserve the same credit for your kind help and support.

今度のホビーショーで、「Knit for Japan」が表彰されます。賞の名前はホビー産業大賞の「経済産業大臣賞」です。これはホビー産業大賞の中で１番価値の高い賞だそうです。「Knit for Japan」　ケストラー＆内藤商事」でホビー協会に申し込んでいたところ、見事に受賞が決りました。

The World Record Certificate

I have just received the official certificate to our Guinness World Record. Again, thank you all, who helped making this possible.

私はちょうど私たちのギネス世界記録への証明書が届きました。皆さん、本当にありがとうございます。

11.250 Granny Squares in on blanket

When I started this project in 2012, I could not envisioned what we completed yesterday at Ishinomaki. On Saturday, September 20th, together with many friend and supporters we completed our world record blanket. The event was our attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for the world’s largest crochet blanket of  306.2 m². 

The final count of the blanket is:

• 11,250 Granny Squares of 20 x 20 cm,
• Finished size 476,78 m²

The blanket has now been made into smaller blankets to be given to victims of the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami in the Tohoku area.

私は2012年にこのプロジェクトを始めました。これは大きな成功を収めました。 昨日、9月20日石巻で多くの友人や支援者と一緒に世界記録ブランケットを完了した。 イベントは306.2㎡の世界最大のかぎ針編みの毛布の現在のギネス世界記録を破るために私たちの試みでした。

ブランケットの最終カウントは、次のとおりです。

• 11,250 モチーフ (20 x 20 cm),
• 出来上がたサイズ 476,78 m²

ブランケットは現在、小さな毛布に戻って、東北地域の2011年の地震と津波の被災者にプレゼントします。

Roll of 10 blankets – 10枚のロール」

We have wonderful warm weather today. So I took the roll of 10 blankets outside, to take a pictures. The piece is 20m long and 1 m wide. Next week, we will connect 20 of such rolls into our blanket of 400 sqm.

今日はとても良い天気です。だから、「10枚のロール」を外に持って行って、の写真を取りました。来週の石巻のイベントでそのようなロール２０枚が４００sqmのブランケットのために繋ぎます。

Over the past weeks I received several finished blankets. To prepare for our final event next week in Ishinomaki, I already joint 10 blankets into one large ribbon. Unfortunately, today we have rain, but should the weather allow, I will take a picture of the ‘Roll of 10’.

過去数週間にわたって、私はいくつかのブランケットが届きました。来週のイベントを準備するために１０枚長いリッボンのように会わせました。残念ながら、今日は雨です。天気が良くなると「10枚のロール」の写真を取ります。

Yomiuri Shinbun Workshop No. 2

Today we had our 2nd workshop to connect more Granny Squares. Many supporters joint us at the Yomiuri Shinbun headquarter. We managed to finish 2 complete blankets. Last week one of the ladies took a blanket home and brought back today. So we have 3 more blankets ready for our world record attempt in September.

今日私たちは、モチーフを会わせるために第2回ワークショップをやりました。多くの人が読売新聞本社で私たちを助けました。  ブランケット２枚で来ました。先週の女性は、毛布を家に取り、今日持ち帰りました。だから9月の世界記録のために後ブランケット3枚準備しました。

Yomiuri Shinbun Workshop

Today we had the first of 2 workshop to assemble more Granny Squares into blankets. A good number of helping hands joint us. We managed to almost finish 2 more blankets. Each will add another 2 square meters to our final Guinness World Record.

The next workshop will be on August 26th at the Yomiuri Shinbun headquarter. Please join us to add some more square meters to our record. I am looking forward to see many of you.

今日は最初のモチーフを会わせるためのワークショップがありました。色々な方が参加して、手伝いました。だいたいブランケット２枚で来ました。それぞれが私たちの最終的なギネス世界記録に別の2平方メートルが追加されます。

次回のワークショップは、読売新聞本社で8月26日になります。 私たちのレコードにいくつかのより多くの平方メートルを追加するためにご参加ください。 楽しみしましょう。

Final event

For our final event on September 20th in Ishinomaki to connect all blankets into one large piece, we are looking for volunteer. If you like to join and crochet yourself into history, please let me know.

ドイツ生まれのニット男子”ベルンド・ケストラー”さんが呼び掛けで開始した、世界一大きなグラニースクウェア・ブランケットを作成し東北の被災地の方へお届けする 慈善活動、”Knit for Japan（ニット・フォー・ジャパン）”が
いよいよ、９月２０日（土）に宮城県石巻市総合体育館にて完成することとなりました！
当初、7150枚を目標としておりましたが、世界中から10,000枚を超えるモチーフがケストラーさんの元へ届けられました。
現在モチーフを1m×2mの1人分サイズにし準備を進めております。

そして、当日２０ｍ×２０ｍの超特大ブランケットとして１つになります。

現在、９月２０日当日にモチーフ繋ぎにご協力下さるボランティアの方を
募集しております。
